All are in need of salvation because all are sinners and, therefore, under the judgment of God. God provided the means of salvation by sending His Son, Jesus Christ, to die in our place. Christ bore the wrath of God that we deserve. Salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. We can do nothing to earn it. It is given to us when we trust in the work of Christ as being the only way to take care of our sin problem. It allows God to forgive us, make us His child and fit us for His presence. Salvation is a gift that we receive or reject.
